Superb Vintage 5 Tier Empire Waterfall Chandelier with Rare Crystal Finger Drops. An absolutely stunning chandelier, weighing 7 kg, with an amazing array of beautifully cut crystal finger drops cascading down from a chromed metal frame. It is circular in shape and the interior has a stepped five tier metal frame, the top outer rim has a delicate French empire pattern engraved all around it.

There are five opulent tiers of rare crystals attached to the frame, there are large multi faceted octagonal drops paired with extremely rare and unusual long finger drops that have facets cut into the rounded ends. The long drops on the first four tiers are 10 cm and the smallest inner tier are 9 cm.

I hope that you can see from the pictures that the high lead content in the drops reflect both natural and electric light exquisitely. A large multi faceted crystal ball is set in the centre base of the chandelier framework, so gives a wonderful finish when looking up at the light when it is hung. It is in excellent vintage condition, with all 166 pairs of crystals being complete without chips or damage. The chrome has some age related wear, but this is to the interior so not visible. The framework is styled to be flush mounted with the ceiling, but it would be a simple matter to add chains to the top frame if you wanted it to hang down from the ceiling.

As stated previously this is a substantial piece weighing 7 kg and it has perfect proportions measuring 35 cm high and 45 cm wide. A lavish and eye catching vintage piece that would be an amazing focal point in either a period or contemporary interior. It uses 1 large base bulb (not supplied) and is wired and fully functional, however as with all vintage lighting it should be checked and installed by a qualified person.
